Aurora Torres


Aurora is a freelance violist and private instructor based in Boise, Idaho. Ms. Torres studied under the direction of David Johnson (viola) and Geoffrey Trabichoff (violin) and earned her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Music Performance from the College of Idaho when she graduated cum laude  in 2012.

She currently holds the title of Principal Violist for Opera Idaho’s orchestra; Associate Principal with the Boise Baroque Chamber Orchestra; and a section violist position with the Boise Philharmonic. While these are permanent positions held in Boise, she also travels to Oregon, Washington, and Montana where she substitutes with the Oregon East Symphony, the Walla Walla Symphony, a d the Helena Symphony, respectively. In addition to orchestral freelancing Aurora also enjoys recording for local artists and playing for local bands in Idaho’s premiere music festival, Treefort.

When not playing her viola Ms. Torres can be found enjoying local breweries and wineries, or hiking the foothills of Boise.
